The New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the Rutgers School of Social Work, Institute for Families will be hosting a Statewide Adolescent Networking Conference on May 15, 2015. Entitled “Voices United for Youth: Visions of a Better Tomorrow,” the conference will focus on trauma-informed care and promoting successful and sustainable relationships and partnerships between youth involved in the child welfare system and the adults that serve them.

The conference is open to DCF staff, child welfare professionals, resource parents and 30 young leaders (ages 14 to 23). A wide variety of professional and youth workshops will be offered to provide attendees with information, tools and resources to help youth successfully transition into adulthood. A working lunch will be provided. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be made available for applicable workshops and conference presentations. Registration is free for Department of Children and Families staff (upon approval from their Supervisor and Local Office Manager), youth, and resource parents. There is a $40 registration fee for all other attendees.
